West Ham’s Edimilson Fernandes underwent surgery in December.

West Ham United midfielder Edimilson Fernandes has posted videos on his Instagram story of his injured ankle being unstrapped, as well as a sizeable scar following his December operation.
The 21-year-old midfielder went under the knife last month in order to correct the issue, after first suffering a sprained ankle back in September.

Although he has featured five times in the Premier League since suffering the injury, Fernandes decided to undergo surgery to correct the problem once and for all in the middle of December.
There are fears that the Swiss midfielder could miss the entire 2017-18 season, as he posted two videos – the first seeing his ankle unstrapped before the second showed the scar on his right ankle with the caption “finally liberated”.

West Ham’s injury room is currently filled to the brim, with Diafra Sakho, Marko Arnautovic, James Collins, Sam Byram, Jose Fonte, Aaron Cresswell, Reece Oxford and Michail Antonio also requiring treatment.
Fans will be hoping the former FC Sion midfielder can return sooner rather than later, as the performances of Cheikhou Kouyate and Pedro Obiang continue to be criticised by sections of the London Stadium.
