Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has told The Telegraph that he has various offers, despite rumours that a move to West Ham United was close.

Zabaleta, 32, joined City from Spanish side Espanyol way back in the summer of 2008, having starred for the La Liga club before his move to the Etihad Stadium.

The Argentinian international has been a key player for City ever since, racking up almost 350 appearances for the club whilst winning two Premier League titles.

A fan favourite throughout his time with City, Zabaleta’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he is now set to leave the club for pastures new.

Zabaleta was given an emotional send off against West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night, with Pep Guardiola handing him a a substitute appearance in order to say goodbye to City supporters.

Now, Zabaleta is looking for a new club to join this summer, and The Telegraph reported earlier this week that the right back is expected to complete a move to West Ham United this summer.

The Hammers have had a number of problems at right back, with Sam Byram struggling for consistency, and Alvaro Arbeloa something of a forgotten man since his August move to the London Stadium.

Zabaleta would fit the bill, but he has now told The Telegraph that he has a number of offers from various teams in the Premier League, and offers from abroad, meaning that his alleged move to West Ham is far from done.

“I have a few offers from teams in the Premier League, some offers from abroad. I am just thinking what is the best for me and my family,” said Zabaleta. “I have been in England for so many years. I am happy and I enjoy playing in the Premier League. We will see.”

“I have offers from different countries. The Premier League is the greatest competition in the world. I have been playing here for so many years and that is my feeling. We will see what happens at the end of the season,” he added.
