The West Ham United striker would be a useful addition to the Nottingham Forest squad.
Mark Warburton has a lot of work to do at the City Ground this summer, if he is to build a squad capable of making a push for the promotions spots, or at least make a vast improvement upon lasts season’s woeful campaign.
One particular area of the Reds squad that needs addressing is the forward department, with Britt Assombalonga’s exit now confirmed, and the addition of another forward will be of paramount importance to their hops of enjoying a successful campaign.
And with this in mind, Forest should consider a move for Hammers striker Ashley Fletcher, with his chances of first-team football at the London Stadium likely to be limited even further still this term, if and when Javier Hernandez arrives at West Ham.
West Ham United’s Ashley Fletcher
The 21-year-old has never really been given the opportunity of regular first-team football at West Ham, but has always demonstrated his superb work ethic and 100 per cent commitment to the cause when called upon.
Fletcher is strong in the air, and quick along the ground, which would provide the Reds with a totally different threat in the final third.
The former Manchester United youngster is still a raw talent though, so he will need to be given some time before he reaches his maximum potential.
Given the opportunity of regular first-team action at the City Ground though, and playing under the guidance of Warburton, Fletcher could be a real hit for Forest.
The 21-year-old still has three years remaining on his current deal with West Ham, but the east Londoners will surely be open to offers for his serves, considering their courtship of various different strikers this summer.
And if Warburton manages to bring him to the City Ground, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the Reds.
