The West Ham United ace would be a useful addition to the West Bromwich Albion squad.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis has come in for some criticism from some sections of the West Brom faithful, after failing to take his club forward by making adequate purchases during the summer transfer window.
Things started well for the Black Country outfit, with the acquisition of Jay Rodriguez from Southampton, but further attacking signings to supplement the arrival of the striker were not made.
And Pulis will surely be targeting another experienced forward in January to add another level of potency to the Baggies’ attacking play.
With this in mind, West Brom should consider making a move for Hammers hitman Andy Carroll in January, with the 28-year-old already finding himself under pressure at the London Stadium, and facing an uncertain future with the club.
The 6ft 4in target man possesses all of the attributes that Pulis looks for in a centre-forward, and would slot seamlessly into the Baggies’ direct brand of football.
Carroll is a real asset from set-pieces, both defensively and offensively, and with the emphasis that Pulis places on corners and free-kicks, the former Newcastle United and Liverpool striker could be a real coup for West Brom.
The nine-capped England international is no slouch in front of goal either, and could form a deadly partnership with Rodriguez.
One major concern for Pulis, if he did decide to move for Carroll, however, is the striker’s less-than-impressive injury record. Every acquisition nowadays is accompanied by a little risk though, and if West Brom do manage to snare Carroll, it could be a signing of real significance for the Baggies.
