The West Ham United goalkeeper has earned back his placed in the starting line-up.
Hammers stopper Adrian sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and opened up on how he believes fate played a big part in his recall to the starting XI.
Joe Hart had started every Premier League game before West Ham faced Manchester City at the Etihad at the start of this month – a game that the 30-year-old England international was ineligible for.
The Spaniard stepped in, and took is chance.

Adrian demonstrated conviction when coming to meet crosses, superb shot-stopping, and helped bring a certain level of authority to the Hammers back-line.
The former Real Betis ‘keeper has kept his place in the starting XI in every Premier League game since, and he told WHUFC.com how important it was for him to seize his chance when Hart was not allowed to face his parent club:

“Personally, it was really important for me to come back to the starting eleven for the Manchester City game, when Joe couldn’t play because of his contract. I produced a good performance and after this the manager has had confidence in me to keep playing, so I have to give him the same confidence on the pitch every time I have the opportunity. I am in a positive way now and feel in good form.”
Next up for West Ham is a home game against Newcastle United in the Premier League tomorrow, and Adrian will be hoping to keep up his fine form when Rafa Benitez’s men head to the London Stadium.
