Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is expected to go big in this summer’s transfer window, with the Dutchman reportedly keen on strengthening pretty much every department of his squad.

One particular area that requires attention is the left-back position, with Leighton Baines on the wrong side of 32, and the acquisition of a top quality left sided full-back will surely feature highly on the Everton manager’s agenda.

With this in mind, the Blues should make a move for Hammers defender Aaron Cresswell, to provide stringent competition for Baines throughout the course of what will be another long and arduous Premier League campaign.

The 27-year-old is widely considered to be one of the most consistent left-back’s in the country, and the Liverpool-born star would feel right at home on Merseyside.

He is quick along the ground, has superb stamina levels, and is technically gifted with he ball at his feet – all prerequisites for any potential Koeman signing.

The West Ham man suffered a serious injury before the 2016/17 Premier League season began, and subsequently struggled upon his return to action.

He did, however, find his feet in the latter stages of the campaign, and once again showcased why he has earned a call-up to the England national team squad.

Cresswell would add both defensive solidarity and an attacking threat to the Everton team, and could link up really well with Kevin Mirallas down the left hand side.

He still has four years remaining on his contract at the London Stadium, however, so the Toffees will have to shell out a fairly substantial amount of money, if they expect to bring him to Goodison Park this summer.
