Corriere dello Sport have reported that a 1-year loan proposal made by West Ham United to sign Roma midfielder, Nicolo Zaniolo has been considered unacceptable.

Recently, it was claimed that while Jose Mourinho’s side would aim to sell the 23-year-old in excess of £26.2 million.

However, the club are also seemingly aware that denying such an offer remains a risk as his value could depreciate as his contract expires in 2024.

However, West Ham offered to sign Nicolo Zaniolo on loan, which understandably is not a prospect that excites Roma.

The Italian international, labelled as showing ‘flashes of genius’ by Fabio Capello has been asked to train alone by journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

While it seems as if all signs point towards an inevitable exit for the talented midfielder, the Hammers have been unable to strike a deal yet, who has already met Mikel Arteta, as per Corriere dello Sport.

With Declan Rice touted to join Arsenal next summer, alongside Lucas Paqueta taking time to settle to English football and Tomas Soucek’s stock having plummeted, David Moyes’ side have a mountain of problems in midfield.

As a result, it does add up why the East Londoners seem keen on bringing the Roma sensation to the London Stadium.

But it seems that they will have to present a better offer before daydreaming like the way they have.

According to a report by Corriere dello Sport, West Ham United offered to take Nicolo Zaniolo on a 1-year loan from Roma.

The Hammers did offer to include an obligation to buy in the deal for £26.2 million as well as bonuses.

But the condition set by the 18th place Premier League side were that they would only pay the aforementioned fee if they reached 30 points by 31st December 2023 next season.

In the event that the said target was not reached, Zaniolo would return to Stadio Olimpico with 6 months left on his deal.

Understandably, Roma do not see much sense in such a complex loan deal involving Nicolo Zaniolo that clearly favours West Ham.
