As reported by the club’s official website, Hannam said: “I want to get into the U23s regularly and perhaps even, if possible, get recognition in the first team. There’s a long way to go for that, though.

“Even the chance to train with the senior squad at Rush Green would be amazing. The boss has shown he’s willing to give youngsters a chance and it would be amazing to earn that opportunity.”

An exciting prospect, Hannam relishes pushing forwards, while he is also dependable defensively.

Given that he is still eligible for the U18s, the youngster is likely to face a wait before he is considered for first-team involvement but his development so far has certainly been very encouraging.

Another ambition for Hannam will surely be to gain international recognition as he has yet to be called up by England at any age group.

During his short time as West Ham manager so far, Moyes has given plenty of game time to young defender Declan Rice, while the likes of Domingos Quina, Toni Martinez, Reece Burke and Josh Cullen have all been involved in cup competitions recently.
