West Ham United winger Nathan Holland has been speaking to the club’s official TV channel after the under-23s win against Manchester City.

The Hammers triumphed over the Blues courtesy of goals from Holland and Toni Martinez and the former was quick to praise the latter’s contribution after the final whistle.

“I’m playing with great players and we all have good relationships on and off the pitch and we’ve really come on,” the West Ham youngster said.

“We believe in each other, just like Toni today and he scored a brilliant goal and that got us the three points. It’s a brilliant team performance.”

Martinez has been in outstanding form almost from the moment he first walked into the club, and his return of 21 goals in 22 under-23 appearances – including seven in eight league games this season – means some West Ham fans have been calling for his inclusion in the senior side for quite some time.

For now that first-team chance continues to allude the Spaniard, but Holland clearly rates him and in time both players are expected to have a major impact at the London Stadium.

West Ham may have struggled at times this season but their promising young players are one massive reason to be positive for the years ahead.
