West Ham have always prided themselves on their ability to bring through talented youngsters, and Powell is the latest in a long line of exciting prospects to come through the club’s academy.
He sat down and spoke with reporters about his jump up to the first-team setup, and named two West Ham legends who he idolised when he was coming through the ranks, as quoted by the Sun:

“I loved the era of Carlos Tevez and I was a ball-boy at Upton Park so got to see him up close. Mark Noble was also one of my idols because he came from a similar background to me.”
Powell will be hoping for another chance to impress tonight, when West Ham welcome Tottenham to the London Stadium for their Carabao Cup fourth round clash.
