Stan Collymore believes that West Ham United would love to sign Scott McTominay from Manchester United in a deal involving Declan Rice.
The former Liverpool striker has written in CaughtOffSide that if Manchester United decide to include McTominay in a transfer deal to sign Rice, then West Ham could be open to it.
The pundit believes Manchester United may not want spend over £120 million on a single player, so including the the £78,000-a-week (SalarySport) Scotland international in the deal would work for them.
The Daily Star have reported that the Red Devils are among the clubs who are keen on signing Rice in the summer transfer window.
West Ham United backed to sign Scott McTominay from Manchester United for Declan Rice
Collymore wrote: “Although the Red Devils probably wouldn’t want to splash £120m on one midfielder, especially when we all know how much Erik Ten Hag wants a new striker, I can definitely see a situation where they offer some money and a player.
“I think including Scott McTominay in an offer would be quite appealing to West Ham. Manchester United’s biggest obstacle will be convincing the player to relocate out of London but if Rice is up for moving further north, I think he could really thrive under Ten Hag.”

Swap may not happen
In our view, Manchester United could be able to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United in the summer transfer window, but Scott McTominay may not too keen on a move to West Ham United.
Okay, we know that West Ham are a big club who could win a major European trophy this season, but they are unlikely to do much of note in the Premier League in the coming years.
We do not see the Hammers consistently challenge for the UEFA Champions League places in the Premier League table.
At Manchester United, McTominay is used to challenging for top honours, so if he did leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, then we think that he would move to a ‘comparable’ club.
