The West Ham United striker has struggled to establish himself at the club this season.
The Hammers are reportedly considering selling Javier Hernandez this month, with Turkish outfit Besiktas thought to be leading the race to sign the Mexican in an £8.5 million deal, according to Goal.
West Ham would be making a huge mistake in allowing the 29-year-old to leave the London Stadium, however, just six months after David Moyes’ predecessor Slaven Bilic signed him for £16 million from Bayer Leverkusen.
Hernandez is one of the best finishers in the game, and the east London outfit should keep faith in the diminutive hitman, for the rest of the season at the very least.
Marko Arnautovic’s rise to prominence since Moyes took over back in November has seen the former Manchester United striker fall down the pecking order at the London Stadium, but he surely still has a huge part to play in the remainder of their campaign.
Hernandez’s movement, and ability to find space in crowded areas offers the Hammers something totally different in forward areas, and he could strike up a formidable partnership with Arnautovic, if given the chance of a regular run of games.
Whilst Moyes might have to sell in order to fund a spending spree of his own, he should not even consider allowing Chicharito to leave the club this month, especially not for the measly amount of just £8.5 million, as there is a very good chance that he would live to regret his decision.
