David Moyes is facing a big task to keep West Ham United in the Premier League this season.

West Ham are still in relegation trouble after just three wins in their first 16 games but things are on the up following the brilliant 1-0 win over London rivals Chelsea on Saturday.
Despite the vast improvement in recent weeks, Moyes knows he must improve his team in January to give the Hammers every chance of staying up.
The East Londoners have been linked with a host of new signings as the winter window approaches.
And Moyes would surely keep them up if they added these four players to their team next month.

Mathieu Debuchy
Frozen out at Arsenal, Debuchy is available and would make a good signing on loan with an option to buy given Pablo Zabaleta’s struggles. The Frenchman is more agile and athletic than the ageing Argentine and is looking to revive his career. With Sam Byram injured long term Debuchy would provide a good short to medium term solution to the right back problem.

Jonny Evans
Coveted West Brom defender Evans has been linked with a move to West Ham but the club face stiff competition for his signature with Everton also said to be interested. West Ham’s defence was the fifth worst in the top flight last season and they neglected to improve it sufficiently in the summer. Evans would arguably be the best signing they Hammers could pull off in their efforts to shore things up at the back and would be a big step towards Premier League survival.

William Carvalho
A public statement on West Ham’s official website put an end to hostilities between the Hammers and Sporting Lisbon after the on-off transfer saga over William Carvalho. And that has led to speculation the deal could be back on in January – again probably as a loan with an option to buy given the club’s precarious position in the table.

Dominic Solanke
Way down the pecking order at Liverpool and desperate to try and impress England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of next summer’s World Cup, Solanke would be perfect on a loan for the rest of the season. The deal would suit all parties and give West Ham some youthful exuberance which they have been sorely lacking in one of the Premier League’s oldest squads. His pace, power and eye for goal would give the Hammers much more attacking threat.
