The Tigres striker is very good friends with former West Ham man Dimitri Payet.

West Ham United are being strongly linked with a move for Mexican winger Jurgen Damm this week. The Sun is reporting that Damm is a £4 million target for Slaven Bilic’s side and that the six-cap Mexico international is keen on a move to London.
He currently plays his football for Tigres UANL in Mexico and there is one team-mate there that Hammers fans will hope he does not ask for advice.

That player is French striker Andre-Pierre Gignac. The 31-year-old, who joined Tigres in the same month as Damm, has a special friendship with last season’s public enemy number one at West Ham. Gignac and Dimitri Payet played together at Marseille for many years and are known to be very close friends.
Payet left West Ham in acrimonious circumstances earlier this year and went on to criticise the club, suggesting he was bored of the style of play before leaving the Hammers.

If Gignac has a word in Damm’s ear at some point, he might point out that his good friend had such a bruising end to his time at West Ham.
But hopefully Damm will make his own mind up and decide that West Ham is an opportunity he should not turn down this summer.
