West Ham United are being linked with Javier Hernandez and Raul Jimenez.

According to The Mirror, West Ham United are looking to sign two strikers this summer – and a couple of targets could make the ideal tandem.

The Hammers signed three strikers last summer in Simone Zaza, Jonathan Calleri and Ashley Fletcher, but Fletcher is the only one left at the club heading into the new Premier League season.

Whilst Slaven Bilic does have Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho at his disposal, both players have major injury doubts having over them, with two strikers now believed to be on West Ham’s wish list.

Speculation is rife, and a host of names are being linked with the club, but reuniting two of Bilic’s top targets could be beneficial for the Hammers.

The Mirror firstly reported that West Ham want to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacker Javier Hernandez, and then claimed that they will battle Liverpool for the signature of Benfica’s Raul Jimenez.

The duo would provide goals having found the net for their clubs domestically and in Europe, but they could also reunite having featured for Mexico together.

Having that existing rapport would be ideal for West Ham, as it would allow them to step straight into the line-up and lead the line from the off, drawing on their time playing up from together for Mexico to cause problems in the Premier League.

Hernandez’s movement and predatory instincts could also make him the ideal foil for the more physical Jimenez, who offers more of a natural centre forward option should West Ham move to sign him.

Signing both makes sense for West Ham, and whilst it may cost a considerable amount of money to land the Mexican duo, they could be the strike duo Bilic is looking for this summer.
