West Ham United and Middlesbrough are interested in signing Folarin Balogun from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, according to The Mirror.

What’s the story?

It has been reported by The Mirror that West Ham manager David Moyes watched Arsenal striker Balogun in action this week.

Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder also reportedly scouted the 20-year-old striker.

The Arsenal youngster played for the England Under-21 international side against their Czech Republic counterparts this week.

Balogun scored.

Could Folarin Balogun to West Ham happen?

It is very unlikely that Balogun is going to leave Arsenal for good anytime soon.

After all, it was only earlier this year that the 20-year-old signed a new contract with the Gunners.

However, in our view, a love move to West Ham in the January transfer window could well happen.

After all, it would be beneficial for all three parties.

Moyes would get a striker as a back-up to and to compete with Michail Antonio.

Balogun would stand a chance of getting more minutes at the Hammers.

And Arsenal would be able to follow the progress of Balogun closely at a top Premier League club.

However, the Gunners may not want to send the striker to a direct rival for the Champions League place and could prefer Middlesbrough instead.

Balogun has made one start and one substitute appearance in the Premier League, and has played seven minutes in the Carabao Cup so far this season.
