Upton Park was rocking this afternoon as West Ham beat the champions.
West Ham United have done it again, beating one of the Premier League’s top teams to surely have those remaining doubters convinced that The Hammers are here to stay at the top end of the Premier League table.
Today it was Chelsea who were put to the sword. With wins already under their belt against Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City now Chelsea can be added to that list.
Mauro Zarate had given West Ham the lead before Nemanja Matic was sent off for Chelsea after picking up two yellow cards. Jose Mourinho then went up to the director’s box for the second-half when a Gary Cahill goal looked to have earned his struggling side a barely deserved point.
Before Andy Carroll rocked up. The giant striker is still working his way back to full fitness after a knee ligament injury and this was a timely reminder of the impact he can have for West Ham in the weeks to come.
It was an impact that did not go unnoticed among the West Ham board with Lady Brady tweeting her appreciation:
Carroll put a smile on the face of many a West Ham fan today as well as Brady as the club continue their impressive form under the guidance of Slaven Bilic.
