West Ham United take on Watford in the Premier League today and do so with two of their key men finally set to feature for the first time this season.
The Hammers are happily set to welcome back French international Dimitri Payet and Argentine wizard Manuel Lanzini back to action after injury for the game this afternoon.
West Ham have struggled for the spark this pair bring to the first-team so far this season and there is no doubt that their performances must be set to improve now that this key duo are back in action.
One person who certainly feels that way is the club’s vice-chairman Karren Brady.
West Ham’s Dimitri Payet
Writing in her column for The Sun she had this to say about the game with Watford:
“It’s hard to get over the feeling the start of the Hammers’ Prem season has been delayed until Saturday when we are at home to Watford.
“This is not just because Dimitri Payet is available at last. No, we have half-a-dozen others close to return, including the little wizard Manuel Lanzini.”
West Ham are at home again today, playing their second game at the London Stadium in the Premier League, and fans will be looking forward to welcoming both Payet and Lanzini back to first-team action.
West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini celebrates scoring their first goal
Payet performed heroics for France at this summer’s European Championships and Lanzini was integral to the club’s form last term.
Both are needed for West Ham to get back to playing the way they did last season and Hammers fans will be hoping that Slaven Bilic’s men will have their spark back.
