West Ham United are due to take on Newcastle United at the weekend, and Roberto has been impressed with Steve Bruce’s side.

West Ham United goalkeeper Roberto has spoken very positively about Newcastle United on his side’s official website.

Newcastle are West Ham’s opponents at the weekend, and Manuel Pellegrini’s men head into the contest as heavy favourites.

Newcastle have struggled over the season so far, with Steve Bruce’s side sat in 17th place in the Premier League table.

But West Ham summer signing Roberto actually thinks that Newcastle could pose a tough test to his side at the weekend.

“We expect to face a very tough team,” the Spaniard said. “Newcastle are strong, very good defensively, and very powerful when they go to attack.

“The main thing for us, though, is to prepare our team well, and to try to play at our best level. That is the most important thing for the arrival of Newcastle in this moment, and if we do, it could be a good chance for us.”

Roberto looks set to start in goal for West Ham tomorrow, as he continues to cover for the injured Lukasz Fabianski.

Fabianski has been ruled out for a sizeable amount of time, which means that Roberto has had to play more regularly than first expected when he arrived in London this summer.

West Ham are under pressure to pick up the three points at the weekend, as their form has slowed in recent times.

Pellegrini’s side have now failed to win any of their last five matches, after previously making an excellent start to the campaign.
