West Ham United midfielder Robert Snodgrass opened his account for the season at the weekend.

Robert Snodgrass has told West Ham United’s official website that he feels fitter than ever now.
Snodgrass has had to wait for a chance at West Ham this season, with Manuel Pellegrini favouring other options.
But the Scotland international was given a chance to start for West Ham at the weekend, and he took it.
Snodgrass was one of West Ham’s better players in their 1-1 draw with Sheffield United, with the experienced midfielder scoring his side’s only goal with a neat finish.
And Snodgrass hopes that his display will keep him in the starting line-up now.
“I’m 32-years-old but I feel as fit as I’ve ever been, but it’s hard, it’s tough, and I want to come in and do my best for the team,” Snodgrass said.
“I think I created chances and scored and could have had another one when I slid in and hit the post.
“I’ve given everything but I’ve only had one 90 minutes through pre-season and through ten games, which was against Brighton, so I’m trying my very best behind the scenes to keep fit.”

Whether Snodgrass will keep his place for West Ham remains to be seen, but they are coming under increasing pressure to get back to winning ways.
The Hammers started the season excellently, but have come unstuck more recently.
West Ham have failed to win any of their last five gams across all competitions, which has seen them sink down to 10th place in the Premier League table.
