Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka has had a public disagreement with the Emirates Stadium crowd.

West Ham United’s Mark Noble has suggested that Granit Xhaka may be best off leaving Arsenal in the London Evening Standard.

Xhaka made a public statement yesterday, after the huge fall out with supporters during Arsenal’s last match.

Xhaka gesticulated furiously towards Gunners fans, who were jeering him, after being substituted off against Crystal Palace last weekend.

The £30 million (Sky Sports) Switzerland international may well lose his captain’s armband now, with Unai Emery considering making a change.

And Noble, who captains West Ham, thinks that Xhaka’s time at the Emirates Stadium may be up.

“In all honesty, the best solution might be to tell his agent, ‘Look, they don’t like me here, so maybe it’s best if I go and play somewhere else’,” Noble said.

“There would be a lot of takers for him because he is a quality player and it does seem, from the outside, that his fellow players love him, both as a professional and a person. If I was him I would say, ‘I’ve had a great time here, but it’s not worked out recently and it’s time for a new challenge’.”

If Xhaka does stick around at Arsenal he will have a lot of work to do to win over supporters.

Xhaka was already fairly unpopular with Gunners fans, and this latest incident has hardly helped him get the critics off his back.

Arsenal are in action against Wolves tomorrow, but it remains to be seen whether Xhaka will be selected to play.
