The 30-year-old seems to be heading toward West Ham United.
Mark Noble has admitted to Sky Sports that West Ham United target Joe Hart is a “fantastic goalie” as he closes in on a move to East London.
The Manchester City man has been deemed surplus to requirements under Pep Guardiola and looks certain to join West Ham in a loan deal this summer.
BBC Sport reported that the 30-year-old keeper is due to undergo his medical with the Irons on Monday.
The Citizens will pay part of his £130,000-a-week wages and the move will include an option to buy him outright, BBC Sport also reported.
If and when it goes through, Hart will be competing with Adrian and Darren Randolph for the number-one shirt under Slaven Bilic, and although Noble acknowledges his talent, the midfielder was keen to stress they haven’t signed him yet.
“I’ve known Joe for a long time, we played for England U21s together years ago,” Noble told Sky Sports.
“He is obviously a fantastic goalie but at the minute he is not our player. We have got two really good goalies here so it would be more competition for them.”
Hart would be an excellent signing but Bilic will still need at least one striker this summer and that should be his next target.
Some pretty big names – including Olivier Giroud, Javier Hernandez and Kelechi Iheanacho – have been linked but Hernandez seems the most likely option from those three, after West Ham withdrew their interest in the other two.
