West Ham United’s offer for Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud could impact on Manuel Lanzini’s contract.

According to a report in The Sun, West Ham United are ready to offer Manuel Lanzini a new contract, but their pursuit of Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud could yet impact on any deal for the Argentine.

West Ham are believed to be prepared to offer Giroud a staggering £130,000-a-week deal to move to the London Stadium, as the Daily Mirror have reported.

If Giroud was brought in on that salary then the French international would be West Ham’s highest paid player by a considerable distance.

And Lanzini may feel that he is entitled to ask for a bigger increase in wages than he is set to be offered.

The Sun suggest that West Ham will offer Lanzini terms worth around £50,000-a-week.

That deal, as things stand, would have made him one of the Hammers’ higher earners.

However, it pales into insignificance compared to the wages on offer for Giroud, if he was to join West Ham.

And Lanzini may feel that he is entitled to a contract more befitting of his value to the squad.

Lanzini is one of West Ham’s leading stars, and is unquestionably one of the most talented players currently at the London Stadium.

Slaven Bilic regularly talked up the importance of Lanzini, following Dimitri Payet’s departure last season.

And if Giroud is handed a mega-money deal at West Ham, then it could be more costly than Bilic’s side bargained for, as Lanzini may want a bigger pay rise too.
