West Ham United midfielder Manuel Lanzini was once reportedly wanted by Tottenham Hotspur.

Manuel Lanzini has claimed that beating Tottenham Hotspur back in 2017 is still the highlight of his West Ham United career, on the Hammers’ official website.
West Ham beat Spurs 1-0 back in the 2016/17 campaign, and the win did some serious damage to Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s title challenge.
Lanzini scored the only goal of the game on that day.
And that victory over one of West Ham’s biggest rivals still sticks firmly in the memory of the Argentine playmaker.
“The game against Tottenham, where we won 1-0 – and I scored the goal,” he said, when asked for the best moment in his West Ham career. “It was a Friday night and Tottenham were fighting for the Premier League title.
“We didn’t play very well during the game, but the fans and the atmosphere were crazy, helped us, and we won – it was magical.”

The Daily Mirror actually suggested that Tottenham were interested in buying Lanzini from West Ham in the summer of 2017, and his excellent performance against them may have bene part of the reason behind that.
Lanzini never made the move to Spurs though, and now looks set to pen a new contract at West Ham.
The Daily Express claim that Lanzini is set to sign a deal which will keep at West Ham until 2024.
Lanzini has already shown his quality this season, claiming an assist in West Ham’s last game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
