West Ham United signed Felipe Anderson from Lazio in the summer transfer window.
West Ham United have been quite busy in the summer transfer window and have signed a number of players.
Among the players West Ham have recruited this summer is Felipe Anderson, who moved to the Premier League club from Lazio for an initial transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £33.5 million.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has arrived at the London Stadium with a strong reputation, and the Brazil international could prove to be a huge success for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady seems to be particularly proud of the club securing the services of Anderson.
Brady wrote in The Sun: “Manuel’s trusted ally Mario Husillos was brought in as director of football to over-see our player recruitment strategy.
“Since then, no fewer than ten new faces, seven of them between 21-28, have been added to the playing squad at a cost of almost £100million in transfer fees alone.
“The arrival of Brazilian playmaker Felipe Anderson for a club-record £41m is our signal that we can compete with the best.”
Excitement ahead
With the likes of Jack Wilshere and Marko Arnautovic in the team, West Ham fans can expect a very entertaining and exciting season ahead.
While it is hard to see the Hammers break into the top four of the Premier League this season, they can certainly push for a place in the top six.
West Ham will take on Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
