West Ham United signed Fabian Balbuena from Corinthians during the summer transfer window.
Balbuena moved to West Ham from Corinthians in the summer transfer window, and the adjustment to English football was tricky at first.
The Paraguayan admits that he had trouble with the language and the style of football.
But Balbuena feels he is getting more and more used to being a West Ham player by the week.
He said: “I had a little bit of trouble with the language but with time it is getting better and I’m talking English every day and, in general, I’m feeling better every time I try.
“The intensity here is bigger, and also it’s possible to play more. In South America, the players fall with minimal contact but here it is different.
“But for me, the most different aspect is the intensity. There are great players in every position on the pitch so that’s why I think everything is more intense.
“I struggled a bit in the first weeks after I moved but I think I have adapted already, working day by day and I feel good about how things are going.”
Balbuena has formed a solid partnership with Issa Diop at West Ham, with the duo catching the eye over recent weeks.
West Ham have still struggled to collect points over the season so far though.
The Hammers have won just twice this season, and only have seven points after nine matches.
Balbuena and West Ham are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Leicester City.
