David Moyes has admitted via The Belfast Telegraph that he did not spend long basking in the joy of West Ham United’s win over Chelsea becuase of the looming visit of Arsenal.

Moyes picked up his first win as West Ham boss on Saturday as the Irons edged out the Premier League champions to renew optimism regarding their relegation scrap.

It was only the Hammers’ third victory of the season and one that keeps them in the drop zone, but only on goal difference from West Brom in 17th.

The oft-ridiculed Scottish manager laid the foundations for that win by overseeing a hugely-spirited 2-1 defeat at high-flying Manchester City the week before and it seems like they are getting better under him.

That being said, Wednesday’s visit of Arsenal is the third part in a trilogy of tough games for the East Londoners, and the former Everton boss says the imminent clash with Arsene Wenger’s outfit made him cut short the celebrations of the Chelsea win.

“I’m always happy when I win. The best feeling is the Saturday night feeling after a win,” he was quoted as saying by The Belfast Telegraph.

“But then I put my jacket on as I left the dressing room and thought, ‘Oh no, we’ve got Arsenal in midweek’.”

Logically, beating Chelsea means that the West Ham shouldn’t be pessimistic about their chances of defeating the North Londoners, given that the Blues are a better side.
