West Ham United defender Arthur Masuaku has admitted to the club’s official website that he is not fully match fit yet.

Masuaku recently returned from a six-match suspension during a friendly match against Dagenham & Redbridge.

The 24-year-old, who can operate as a left-back or as a left-winger, has admitted that he is not fully match fit yet.

Masuaku told West Ham’s official website: “I used this game as a training for me to be fit as soon as possible.

“I need games to be at 100 per cent, and I’m not fit yet, so I used this game to help me get as fit as I can.”

Worrying

Masuaku is a good player who has done well on occasions, and it is a bit worrying that the former France Under-19 international is not fully match fit yet.

Although one can understand why the 24-year-old, who earns £40,000 per week as salary at West Ham according to Spotrac.com, is not fully match fit, it is important that he gets into his rhythm soon.

West Ham are in genuine danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and David Moyes’s side are running out of games.

Masuaku has been on the books of West Ham since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Olympiakos for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £6 million.
