West Ham United are back in for Youssef En-Nesyri with a loan-to-buy offer now being considered for the Sevilla striker.

That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that West Ham have now made an approach to sign En-Nesyri this month.

It’s stated that West Ham tried to sign En-Nesyri in January of last year, offering €30million (£26.5million), which Sevilla rejected.

West Ham have different plans this time though and are offering a loan deal for En-Nesyri.

That could include an option or obligation to buy in order to tempt Sevilla into allowing the striker to leave.

There is a problem for West Ham though, as En-Nesyri scored a hat-trick against third-tier Linares Deportivo last week.

Sevilla may now be minded to keep hold of En-Nesyri for the second half of the season as they battle against relegation.

Sevilla are 17th in La Liga and need results to secure their top-flight status with En-Nesyri surely key to that push.

Who is West Ham United target Youssef En-Nesyri?

En-Nesyri started out in the ranks of Maghreb de Fes and the Mohamed VI Football Academy in his native Morocco.

Malaga pounced to sign him in 2015, initially joining up with their B team.

En-Nesyri did enough to win a promotion to the first team but five goals in 41 games wasn’t an amazing record.

Malaga sold En-Nesyri to Leganes in the summer of 2018, and he found his shooting boots there with 15 goals in 53 outings.

Sevilla were more than happy to pounce for En-Nesyri after just 18 months at Leganes, but his record has been up and down.

24 goals in the 2020-21 season was pretty incredible from En-Nesyri, but he has scored just five La Liga goals in his last 34 outings.

West Ham still seem keen on En-Nesyri though, maybe attracted after his displays for Morocco at the World Cup.

En-Nesyri scored the goal to dump Portugal out of the World Cup, sending Morocco into the semi-finals with a truly historic goal whilst leaving Cristiano Ronaldo in tears.

David Moyes may think that he can get more out of En-Nesyri, utilising him as another goal threat to work with Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca.
