West Ham United have loaned out Martin Samuelsen to Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season.
West Ham United youngster Martin Samuelsen has admitted to the Lancashire Telegraph that he has found his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers tough so far.
Samuelsen has moved on a season-long loan to Blackburn, as he seeks to gain first-team experience, but his chances have been few and far between so far.
The attacking midfielder has only made three appearances for Rovers to date, and he admits that he wants to play more for Owen Coyle’s side.
“It has been a tough start, you can say, both for the team and for me,” Samuelsen said.
“There has been little playing time. I wish that I could have been involved more and contribute, to score and create goals, which is something I can do, but that’s it.
“The coach has a lot to think about and cannot go and talk to each player. I hope the turning point comes soon because I’m sure when I get to play I’m going to show what I can do.”
Samuelsen announced his potential on the international stage in midweek, after scoring his first goal for Norway against San Marino.
The 19-year-old has previously impressed in the Football League, while on loan at Peterborough United last season.
Samuelsen was used fairly regularly by Posh last term, and Grant McCann’s side attempted to bring the skilful youngster back this term.
However, West Ham wanted to prospect to play at Championship level, and Blackburn jumped at the chance to sign him.
Coyle has used Samuelsen very sparingly so far, but he could feature in Rovers’ upcoming match against Ipswich Town.
West Ham do reportedly have the option to cut Samuelsen’s loan spell at Ewood Park short in January, should they not feel happy with the progress he is making.
