Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn is reportedly attracting interest from West Ham United.

John McGinn was Aston Villa’s standout performer during their promotion to the Premier League as West Ham United are now showing interest in his services.
The Daily Mail have claimed that West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini is eager to sign the energetic midfielder, who worked wonders in his first season at Villa Park.
If Villa were still a Championship club then many of their supporters would have feared for McGinn’s future, and many other of their top stars.
However, now that they are back in the promised land, West Ham are in dreamland if they think that McGinn will make the switch from Villa Park to the London Stadium this term.
First and foremost, the Hammers wouldn’t be able to provide him with anything extra, i.e, European football, so they are at a level playing field with Villa there.
Then it could be argued that the Midlands outfit have more financial muscle than the East London club, won secured a top 10 finish last term.

But above all else, Villa are a bigger club than West Ham, so there’s another reason why the Hammers would be fighting a losing cause in their chase for McGinn.
Whilst Villa have suffered numerous problems over these past few years, the three seasons in the Championship, in the end, has cleansed them and they are now back up and running.
History suggests that Villa are a team that have always competed for European places, and in years to come if Dean Smith can get the ship settled and improve on it then they might just be a force to be reckoned with in years to come.
