West Ham United’s Michail Antonio warms up before the match
West Ham United winger Michail Antonio personally delivered a signed shirt to a charity after realising it would not make it there in time if sent through the post.
Antonio arranged to send a signed shirt to a charity named Libby Mae’s Little Angels via the post to be auctioned at their black-tie ball for neonatal units across the Midlands, but ran out of time to do so, the Daily Mail reports.
But, instead of letting them down the 26-year old decided to drive up to Birmingham after West Ham’s 1-1 home draw with Middlesbrough to ensure the shirt arrived on time.

Antonio, who has been named in Gareth Southgate’s first England squad since taking over as caretaker manager, is quoted by the Daily Mail saying:
“I knew they wanted it for the auction that night, so I thought I would drop it off after the game before carrying on to see my family.”

The 26-year-old enjoyed a fantastic first 12 months as West Ham after joining from Nottingham Forest, as he scored 14 goals in 41 matches in all competitions last campaign and has now been involved in the last two England squads.
Although he has been called up as a midfielder Antonio has proven himself a versatile player for the Hammers and can fill in at either right-back or as a striker if Southgate chooses to do so.
