David Moyes’s West Ham United have been linked with Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho.

According to TEAMtalk, West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Brentford all are interested in signing Kelechi Iheanacho from Leicester City in the January transfer window.

Palace reportedly wanted to sign the forward in the summer of 2023.

Iheanacho is out of contract at Leicester at the end of the season.

The Foxes are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the last campaign.

Leicester manager Enzo Maresca does not want to lose Iheanacho in the middle of the season and would like him to sign a new deal, according to the report.

My View: West Ham United could struggle to sign Kelechi Iheanacho in January

In my opinion, West Ham United would find it hard to sign Kelechi Iheanacho from Leicester City in the January transfer window.

Leicester are aiming to win automatic promotion from the Championship to the Premier League.

The 27-year-old Nigeria international forward has made seven starts and eight substitute appearances in the Championship this season.

The Leicester no. 14 has scored five goals and given one assist in those games.

The forward has also scored one goal and provided one assist in two League Cup matches this campaign.

Of course, money talks, and Iheanacho is also out of contract at Leicester at the end of the season, but it would be better for the Foxes to keep him to enhance their chances of winning promotion to the Premier League.

For the forward himself, it would make sense to see out his contract at Leicester and then move on a free transfer.

Iheanacho scored 42 goals and gave 25 assists in 196 appearances during his time in the Premier League.
