West Ham United are interested in raiding Sao Paulo for their star playmaker Igor Gomes as they look for new signings.
That’s according to Homme du Match in France, who claim that West Ham are taking a ‘keen interest’ in a deal for Gomes.
It’s added that Gomes is considered ‘the new Kaka’ and is being eyed up as a creative addition for West Ham having allowed Felipe Anderson to leave for Lazio.
The fee involved would be €15million, so around £13million – not bad if he can get even close to Kaka’s level one day.
His output isn’t quite as impressive. Gomes has played 114 games for Sao Paulo, but has only recorded eight goals and nine assists.
Gomes has been a wanted man though, as Real Madrid made a move last summer and Liverpool opened talks according to reports in Brazil.

Liverpool have seemingly moved away from Gomes, but a move to England could still materialise if West Ham firm up their interest.
Gomes is an exciting name to keep an eye on in the coming weeks, with another attacking midfielder surely a priority for David Moyes following Jesse Lingard’s return to Manchester United.
