West Ham United could now turn to Elche winger Tete Morente as they target summer additions for David Moyes’ side.
The Hammers have faded out of contention for the top four but a top-seven finish is on the cards. West Ham could even end up in the Europa League final yet.
It’s been another positive season under David Moyes and West Ham should be appealing to potential summer signings.
Moyes seems to be keen on another winger and it looks like Morente is on his wish list for the summer window.
The Sunday Mirror (01/05, p74) report that West Ham are stepping up their pursuit of Morente in the hope of a deal.
West Ham have allegedly been chasing Morente for a while now and they are starting to ramp up their move.
It’s suggested that positive talks have been held between the two clubs and a £7million deal is in the pipeline.
Morente does have interest from Spanish clubs but he is thought to prefer heading to the Premier League with West Ham.
So just who is Tete Morente?
Formerly of Atletico Madrid, Morente then had spells in Spain’s lower leagues with Atletico Baleares, Gimnastic, Lugo and Malaga.
In 2020, Elche pounced to sign Morente and the 25-year-old has been impressing since.

Three goals and three assists this season doesn’t sound incredible but he has been hailed in Spain for his form under manager Francisco.
Morente is predominantly a right-sided winger and could provide some competition for Jarrod Bowen at the London Stadium.
£7million isn’t a huge fee and Moyes may feel he has found something of a bargain.
Moyes has been superb in the transfer market, securing outstanding deals for Craig Dawson, Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek amongst others.
Morente could be the next, with West Ham seemingly advancing their move for the Spanish ace.
