West Ham United are said to be looking to sign the Toulouse defender this summer.

West Ham United should not have any concerns over signing Issa Diop, as he is the complete opposite style of player to their previous target Marlon Santos.

The Guardian suggested that West Ham were interested in signing Marlon from Barcelona, but had some concerns over whether he would have the capabilities to cope physically in the Premier League.

Those worries shouldn’t exist about Diop though, who is on their radar according to Daily Mirror, and that may make the Toulouse defender’s arrival at the London Stadium more likely.

Diop is 6ft 4inch, and cuts a commanding figure in the heart of Toulouse’s defence.

The Frenchman could dominate aerial battles if he was brought to West Ham, and few strikers in England would have the ability to outmuscle him.

With West Ham on the look out for a new central defender, Diop’s physical prowess may just have put him to the top of Manuel Pellegrini’s wishlist.

And if the 21-year-old was to arrive at the London Stadium, he is a player who could be in West Ham’s defence for many years ahead.
