West Ham United are surely in a position where they simply cannot afford to accept any offers for Manuel Lanzini in the January transfer window, particularly from Tottenham Hotspur.
With West Ham locked in a relegation battle in Premier League, they cannot afford to lose any of their key players – otherwise they risk facing a backlash from their own supporters.
West Ham’s board have already been accused of lacking ambition, after appointing David Moyes, and selling Lanzini would only confirm that.
And it would be made even worse for West Ham, if they were to sell the Argentinian playmaker to Spurs.
As a result, West Ham should issue a hands off warning on Lanzini ahead of the January transfer window, as no amount of money would make the deal palatable for the London Stadium crowd.
