West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur were thought to be in competition for Dani Ceballos this summer.

West Ham United’s move for Pablo Fornals may help Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Dani Ceballos.
West Ham are set to bring in Fornals from Villarreal for £24 million, the Guardian have reported, and it seems unlikely that they will go for Ceballos too.

West Ham only have a £30 million transfer budget (Football London), and Fornals and Ceballos are similar players.
The pair are both technically gifted midfielders, whose strength lies in their ability on the ball rather than off it.
It seems highly unlikely that West Ham would sign Fornals and Ceballos in the same transfer window, which would leave them with little money to fund other areas of their squad.
And Spurs may now face a clear run to get Ceballos, with West Ham seemingly picking Fornals as their first choice.
