West Ham United’s board have been accused of showing a lack of ambition in the transfer window.
West Ham are looking at completing a £13 million move for Hernandez, which would see the Mexican forward earn an eye-watering £145,000-a-week salary at the London Stadium.
And if the Hammers were able to complete the transfer deal, then it would surely silence some of the criticism directed towards the board.

David Gold, David Sullivan and Karen Brady have all faced scrutiny this summer, after a supposed lack of ambition in the transfer market.
West Ham have only brought in one new player so far, with Pablo Zabaleta signing up on a free transfer.
And the Hammers board have faced the brunt of frustration currently being felt around the London Stadium.
With tensions mounting, West Ham need a marquee signing to appease fears.
And the addition of Hernandez would surely help to disarm any supporters’ complaints.
If West Ham were willing to offer Hernandez £145,000-a-week, then their ambition surely could not be questioned, and the Mexican forward would certainly improve Bilic’s attacking options.
And Hernandez’s arrival may be exactly what is needed to calm relations between West Ham’s board and supporters, after what has been a very difficult summer to date.
