West Ham United are said to be interested in both Olivier Giroud and Javier Hernandez, with Slaven Bilic wanting a new strike force.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, West Ham United are looking to bring in two new strikers this summer – as Slaven Bilic wants to completely change up his strike force.

West Ham have both Bayer Leverkusen’s Javier Hernandez and Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud on their wishlist, the Daily Mirror suggest, and if the Hammers can get a deal over the line for the pair, then it is a move which could turn them into genuine contenders to take a European spot.

West Ham’s current strike force looks unreliable to say the least, with the likes of Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll both frequent visitors to the treatment room.

However, Giroud and Hernandez working in tandem at the Olympic Stadium is surely a tantalising prospect for West Ham fans.

It is hard to find forwards who can guarantee goals at Premier League level, but by signing Hernandez and Giroud – West Ham would have two proven scorers in England’s top flight.

Giroud has never failed to reach double figures in a Premier League season since moving to Arsenal back in 2012, while Hernandez was a prolific scorer for Manchester United during his time at Old Trafford.

Hernandez and Giroud would surely strike around 30 goals between them, over the course of a season, for the Hammers, and that sort of firepower would propel them up the Premier League standings and into European contention.
