West Ham United have been linked with the prolific forward recently.

According to a report on Calcio Mercato, West Ham United are interested in Villarreal forward Cedric Bakambu, and that could be a wonderful signing for the London club.

West Ham have been in woeful form so far this season, and currently sit in 18th place in the Premier League table.

It is clear that West Ham need to improve defensively, but an injection of attacking quality would not go amiss.

And Bakambu’s arrival at the London Stadium would have the potential to completely turn West Ham’s season around.

Bakambu would offer West Ham pace, power and a clinical finish – and a player of his quality could guide them away from the relegation zone.

Bakambu has netted eight goals in his first 10 La Liga matches this season, and is one of the most feared marksmen in Spain’s top division.

His arrival at West Ham would be a timely statement of intent, with frustrations mounting following the arrival of David Moyes.

And if West Ham do have a chance of snapping up Bakambu in January then they shouldn’t think twice, as he could be their most exciting addition for many years.
