Should West Ham United make a move for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Steve Mandanda in the summer transfer window?
Steve Mandanda joined Crystal Palace only in the summer of 2016, but the goalkeeper has already indicated that he could leave.
With Palace struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment, the former Marseille star recently suggested that he could leave the Eagles.
“I had wanted to change and discover the Premier League,” Mandanda told Telefoot, as translated by talkSPORT.
“Could I end up at a bigger English club? It will depend on my performances. In football, anything is possible.”
West Ham should look into the possibility of signing Mandanda in the summer transfer window.
According to a recent report in The Daily Mail, manager Slaven Bilic has lost faith in Adrian and Darren Randolph and is looking into the possibility of signing Asmir Begovic.
Begovic is a brilliant goalkeeper and has proved himself in the Premier League, but would the Bosnia and Herzegovina international be willing to leave title-chasing Chelsea and join struggling West Ham?
Probably not.
Mandanda may not be keen on switching one struggling London club for another, but the Hammers would have more luck with him than with Begovic.
The France international goalkeeper arrived in England with a strong reputation, and he has played well for Palace so far this season.
The France international goalkeeper, currently on the sidelines with a knee injury, has featured in nine league matches so far this campaign.
A move for the 31-year-old may not be feasible, but if West Ham are able to retain their Premier League status for the 2017-18 campaign, then they should make a bid for the goalkeeper in the summer of 2017.
