West Ham United defender Pablo Zabaleta’s contract expires at the end of the season.

West Ham United need to let Pablo Zabaleta go, rather than offer him a new contract.
Zabaleta’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and West Ham would be wise to let it expire.
Zabaleta is currently on an £90,000-a-week contract at the London Stadium, according to the Daily Mail, and even if he did take a wage reduction there is no room for sentiment.
The Argentine is now 34, and his performance against Everton rather exposed his flaws.
Zabaleta just doesn’t have the speed he once did, and he seems to be reaching the point where West Ham need to upgrade him.

Although Zabaleta is a model professional and a great influence in the dressing room, his wage would be better off spent elsewhere.
And Manuel Pellegrini would be wise to seek alternative options in the summer, when Zabaleta’s contract is due to expire.
