Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham United are looking to improve their attacking options this summer.

Felipe Anderson of SS Lazio looks on during the serie A match between SS Lazio and Bologna FC at Stadio Olimpico on March 18, 2018 in Rome, Italy.

West Ham United may be better off turning their attentions to Xherdan Shaqiri rather than going all out to sign Felipe Anderson from Lazio, as the deal becomes more and more expensive.

The East London & West Essex Guardian has reported how West Ham are going to have to raise their current offer, which already stands at over £30 million, to land Anderson.

The potential transfer is now looking very expensive, and although Anderson would be an exciting addition, there may be better options out there.

Shaqiri is available for just £12 million (Stoke Sentinel), following Stoke City’s relegation, and Manuel Pellegrini may be better off diverting his attention towards the Swiss international.

Although Anderson has the intrigue of being an untested signing in England, Shaqiri has proven to be a threat in the Premier League.

Shaqiri was Stoke’s star player, despite relegation last term, and he has proven on numerous occasions to be a match winner.

For £18 million cheaper than Anderson, Shaqiri surely is an appealing option for West Ham, and they may be better off trying to arrange a deal with Stoke, rather than continuing to pursue an expensive transfer for the Lazio man.
