West Ham United are said to be succeeding where Newcastle United failed in their bid for Tom Cairney.
Cairney has been linked with a whole host of teams, following his impressive performance for Fulham.
The Scottish international is regarded as one of the best players in the Championship, but he has always played down speculation.
Both Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion have been linked with a move for Cairney recently, but the midfielder insisted that he was more than happy at Craven Cottage.
However, a move to West Ham appears to have finally turned Cairney’s head and that shows just how attractive a club that Hammers can be.
David Moyes’ side may not be thriving in the Premier League, but there is clearly still a willingness from players to join them.
And that can only be positive for West Ham in the future, whether they manage to sign Cairney or not this month.
