Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are both said to be battling it out to sign Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

Tottenham Hotspur are among the leading contenders to sign the playmaker this summer, with Mauricio Pochettino keen to snap him up.

Villa are said to value Grealish at £40 million, but they may be open to negotiation, as they are under pressure to sell.
West Ham now need to seize the initiative and make a big-money move for Grealish.
Of course, West Ham may have to pay a few million more for Grealish than if they let the transfer saga drag on, but if Manuel Pellegrini really wants the 23-year-old then it would be a worthwhile move.

West Ham may well come off second best in any battle with Spurs, if they both have bids accepted, but they could steal a march on their London rivals by spending big now.
And if West Ham really do want to sign Grealish, then they cannot pass up their golden opportunity while Spurs hesitate over doing a deal.
