West Ham United are interested in signing Alassane Plea from Nice in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that West Ham have been making approaches for the 25-year-old forward.

Alassane Plea of Nice holds off pressure from Thomas Bruns of Vitesse during the UEFA Europa League group K match between Vitesse and OGC Nice on December 7, 2017 in Arnhem, Netherlands.

The Hammers will have to pay £25 million in order to secure the services of the former France Under-21 international, according to the report.

West Ham, though, are not the only club who are reported to be interested in Plea, with Calciomercato.com claiming that three other Premier League teams – Newcastle United, Burnley and Everton – are also on the hunt.

Quality footballer

Plea is a very talented and promising forward, and his form for Nice in Ligue 1 so far this season has been very encouraging.

The 25-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided four assists in 30 Ligue 1 appearances for Nice so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.

However, it would be a risky signing for West Ham if they have to cough up £25m for the French forward.
