The West Ham United ace is one of the club’s best young players.

David Gold has assured West Ham United fans that Martin Samuelsen is injured.

The 20-year-old attacker is nowhere to be seen as West Ham jetted out to Austria 10 days ago for a pre-season training camp.

Samuelsen is one of the club’s most exciting young players and has had two promising spells at Peterborough United in League One, either side of a poor loan at Blackburn in the Championship.

With his potential in mind, Hammers supporters could be forgiven for being worried about his absence, with it being the summer transfer window.

But the West Ham co-chairman has revealed on Twitter that he is simply injured.

At 20, Samuelsen could be knocking on the door for senior football with the Irons next season, but it remains to be seen whether he will or not.

Impressing in League One is fine, but the Premier League is a huge step up in class and time will tell whether Slaven Bilic deems him ready to make the leap at the moment.
