West Ham United are interested in signing Leeds United talent Sam Greenwood as Middlesbrough consider paying £1.5million for him.
Leeds United’s Sam Greenwood is now wanted by West Ham United after impressing on loan at Middlesbrough.
That is according to TEAMtalk, who report that West Ham are one of a number of clubs keen on signing Greenwood.
Leeds signed Greenwood from Arsenal back in 2020 as they struck a deal worth up to £3million.
Greenwood found first-team minutes hard to come by and was sent out on loan to Middlesbrough for this season.

Greenwood, a former striker who played in midfield for Leeds, has now mostly played down the left flank for Boro.
Four goals and two assists in 13 Championship games for Boro is an impressive record and Greenwood is now attracting interest.
TEAMtalk claim that West Ham are now looking into signing Greenwood – but Boro’s permanent option will be an issue here.
Michael Carrick’s side can turn Greenwood’s loan move permanent for just £1.5million if he agrees to the move.
Premier League interest may just turn Greenwood’s head though with West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brentford, Fulham, Leicester and Southampton all keen.

Boro may activate that option and sell him on, but the permanent clause means a January transfer surely won’t be happening.
Leeds will probably wish that they had set the permanent fee a little higher as £1.5million is starting to look like a bargain for Greenwood.
Seeing Greenwood land a Premier League move would sting a little, but at least the Whites will surely have a sell-on clause in the deal.
The 21-year-old had shown promise in the past and his form for Boro is no great surprise.
Greenwood is now wanted by West Ham, which would surely appeal to any Championship player after the success of Jarrod Bowen in East London.
This seems like a potential summer move and Boro will hope to push for promotion – and boost their hopes of keeping Greenwood for the long term.
