West Ham United midfielder Marcus Browne has told The Sun that his first impressions of Manuel Pellegrini have been positive.

Browne went on pre-season tour with West Ham, but recently left the London Stadium to join Oxford United on loan.

Pellegrini clearly felt that Browne’s development would be better served elsewhere, rather than as a reserve option at West Ham.

And even though the Chilean boss is yet to give the youngster a chance, Browne has been impressed by the West Ham boss.

“He was good to be fair,” Browne said.

“He would spend time chatting to us young boys, getting a feel for us, and he made it clear his door was always open and anyone is welcome to go in and have a chat about whatever really.”

There are high hopes over Browne’s future at West Ham, and he will be looking to impress in League One.

West Ham have good links with Oxford, having recently loaned them Toni Martinez.

Pellegrini has previously stated he wants to utilise West Ham’s young talent more regularly, and Browne could be one of the academy graduates to break into the first-team in future years.
